12V is the standard low-voltage tier for residential and mobile LED installations in the UK. Bathroom wet area fittings under BS 7671 zone requirements, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, caravan and motorhome interiors running on 12V battery systems, and architectural accent lighting all operate at 12V.
Dulora's 12V range covers G4 bi-pin capsules, MR16 spotlights, candle and GLS forms, and festoon accessories across a CRI range of 80 to 97+. The range spans utility products (CRI 80, non-dimmable, for basic low-voltage applications) through to premium dimmable models (CRI 95 to 97+, for installations where colour accuracy matters as much as voltage compliance).
Most 12V LED bulbs require a driver or transformer to convert 230V mains to 12V. For new installations, a modern constant-voltage LED driver is recommended. See LED Drivers. For the dedicated G4 range, see G4 Bulbs. For MR16 spotlights, see LED Spotlights.

12V LED Bulbs: Low-Voltage Lighting for Compliance, Safety, and Off-Grid Use
Where is 12V required rather than optional?
Under BS 7671, bathroom wet area zones (Zone 0 and Zone 1) require extra-low-voltage fittings, typically 12V. This is not a preference but a regulatory requirement enforced through electrical inspection. Caravan and motorhome installations run on 12V DC battery systems by design, making 12V the only option without an inverter.
Outside these mandatory applications, 12V is specified by choice in architectural lighting, under-cabinet installations, and display lighting where the low voltage allows slimmer, more discreet fittings.
Do I need a driver for 12V bulbs?
If the 12V bulb is being installed on a mains-powered circuit, yes: a driver or transformer is required to convert 230V to 12V. If the bulb is going into a system already running at 12V (caravan battery, solar installation), no driver is needed.
For new mains-powered installations, a constant-voltage LED driver rated for the total wattage of the circuit (plus 20% overhead) is the recommended approach. See LED Drivers.
What is the CRI range across the 12V collection?
CRI 80 to 97+. The range includes CRI 80 utility products for basic low-voltage applications (non-decorative, non-dimmable) and CRI 95 to 97+ premium products for installations where colour accuracy is important. Check individual product listings for the CRI of each model.
